New DVDs in the Library

Over the last few months we have been expanding the DVD collection with many new titles. There is Lars von Trier's extraordinary Dancer in the Dark and the highly acclaimed dark fantasy Pan’s Labyrinth from director Guillermo Del Toro. We also have some of the best recent independent US films like the meditative Old Joy and the touching Junebug. Those of a nervous disposition should probably avoid The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and instead go for the groundbreaking anime fantasy Little Norse Prince which is one of the first films to feature the talents of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. In addition we've got some old classics like The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Godzilla and both of James Whale's classic 1930s Frankenstein movies. From the small screen there are three great Natural World films- Lobo; Reindeer Girls and Moose in the Glen as well as some of the best recent art and architecture series including: Picture This; The Genius of Photography; This is Civilisation; Jonathan Meades Magnetic North and Dan Cruickshank's Adventures in Architecture. Go to the DVD shelves for a full alphabetical list and to check for all the latest additions.
